Profile

Thanks so much for adding your profile info and your photo. I have done some tweeking to the profile and gallery pages to make them easier to use. So please come back to the website and check it out! What state is Falkner? MISS? I love your photo’s by the way so cool. There is now a new caption feature for the images that I have posted about on the Posting Page.

Profile

Hi Zak, I am hoping that you will fill out the rest of your profile and add a photo of yourself (avatar).

To change the Avatar, hover your mouse on the word “Profile” on the main menu. Click “Change Avatar” then follow the instructions.

Click the word “Profile” There are several tabs, on the Personal tab; add town, state, and You are the descendant. Check or uncheck the notifications. The first one is to get email when you get a internal private message. The second is when anyone does any activity you will get a message. This one could lead to getting a lot of email as more people keep joining.

Next click the Lineage Tab. You are from John II branch. Then enter your direct line lineage up to John II. Please follow the formatting instructions. Having this info for other members to see can aide in their knowing how you connect and aide communication about the different branches. You are the expert on your own family usually out to your 4-5 generation.

Then go to the Posting Page and give the members a shout out, ask a question, tell us the weather in your town, just say anything so you can try it out.

Thanks so much for helping me out!

Hi there, Just so you know Henry was not named William, he had a brother William and in all records and will’s he is listed as Henry. Can you please fix this in your lineage, please and in your ancestry tree. Thanks so much for your assistance.

A new private message reply from Kari-Admin.

ok I found the Beers book on Google Books, the full version!

https://books.google.com/books?id=udUyAQAAMAAJ&vq=liming&pg=PA519#v=onepage&q=liming&f=false

Do you have a copy of Melville’s book? I would very much like to get a copy of it!!

Do you know if he has descendants who still control the copyright? Was it ever copyrighted?

parent/child proof

1. What did you use for parent/child proof between Henry Liming, 1721, Monmouth, NJ and Joseph Liming, 1745, PA?

2. Did you find a Will? I would love to see the will or doc that names all of Henry’s children.

3. And then the same question as to what proof for Joseph that lists his children? I recently invited a cousin from your line to join the site. He descends from Eulala Liming Bulow. They don’t know anything past Henry.

4. Why do so many trees have Henry listed as William or William Henry? I have never seen any record with his name as anything but Henry.

Hi All, I was asked about the photo's in the main banner image of the website. The stone belongs to Job Liming b1800-d1870 in Monmouth County, NJ and his wife Mary Gifford. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=13583083. This Job was the son of William Liming and Idah Van Mater. http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Liming-96 The Leming House is located in Miami, Clermont County, Ohio. Per the park website it was built in 1840 by Randall Leming. Randall was born 1801 to Ezekiel Wesley Leming and his wife Lucy Brittain. http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Leming-40. Now located in a park, it can be rented for events. The photo of the woman is listed as Mary Leming, but the label does not indicate who she belongs too. She is in the tree, I'm just not sure where right now. The coat of arms is for the English Leman family and has been used by many families with variant spellings. Sam K Leming discussed it in his 1946 book. Kari

Greetings to all the new members. I hired my son to send personal invitations to the list of cousins I have collected on ancestry.com. He has invited over 100 so far out of the list of 1000+. So we will see an influx of new members over the summer. The posting page is where you can start a conversation, ask a question, post a photo, just say hello or introduce yourself. The forum help section has instructions on how to setup your profile. Click on the member directory to see who has joined, you can send a private personal message to them on their profile.

Society Find a Grave Account

I recently created a Find A Grave account under the societies name. I have been moving the profiles that I have created and manage to the society account and also asking for transfers from new profiles that I find that are descendants.

The goal is to manage all the Find A Grave profiles of all the descendants in the master tree and to link the profiles together and add the society website to each profile. I always ask if the current person is related to the profile and invite them to register on the society website. And if they are not to please transfer.

If you manage the profiles of your family members on Find A Grave please keep doing so. But I encourage you to make sure the people are linked together. Also add this in the Biography section of your profiles. "Descendant of immigrant John Liming" http://john-liming-society.org"  This will help people find the website.
