I received the first draft of the research report done by our genealogist 2 days ago. We have been working on the final draft since then and it should be finished tomorrow!! Next I need to submit the copyright application, upload the cover and document to Bowkers. Once that process is done, I can deliver the document, first to the donors and then make it available on the website. I anticipate getting it available on the website by Sunday at the latest. I will say right now that no new records or documents were found for John the immigrant in Monmouth County. But a very throrough analysis was done of all the documents collected by family members over the years and of Sam K Leming's section on John the immigrant. Images are included, including new images of known sources from several repositories in Monmouth. I am very happy with the work done, the report and my experience working with Joan.

FYI there was no William Henry Liming. There was a William Liming and a Henry Liming, they were brothers. Henry was born 1721 and died 1820. Can you please correct the name in your lineage below and any of your online trees please. This is a common error that I am trying to get corrected. Thanks so much for your help
So after a year of trial, error, failure and just not liking anything out there for a private Family Tree that could be only accessed by subscription of the society members. I have given up this model of income generation by the society. I am now suggesting that we use the open and free wikitree dot com where I already have a lot of the tree located anyway. I would like everyone to open an account there and message me your profile URL. I will add your profile URL to my Society member spreadsheet.
The goal is to then get you connected to the main tree on the site. The main way to do this is for everyone to get their lineage in front of them and then search wikitree to see who in your lineage is already there with a profile. The profile ID is at the end of the URL, mine is Lemons-34. Once you find a person in your lineage already on wikitree write their profile ID down. Now you need to connect your profile up to that person by creating a new person for every direct ancestor up to them. Once you get to the child of the existing person you do not create a new person but enter the Profile ID as the child's father or mother. Now you are linked to the existing ancestor. There should never be more than one profile per person. I think this will be the best way for us to have a family tree. As to what is on each profile page, we only want the bare minimum of detailed facts. Birth and Death dates/locations, marriage date, children, link to Find A Grave page.
The plan is to have professionally written research documents done for each person in the tree over time. As these documents are written they will be for sale on main society website. We can provide a link on the wikitree profile page for people to get the research document if they want more information about the person. This is how the society will earn income to stay sustainable. Here is John Liming's profile at the top of the tree. http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Liming-117 You can also just search for Liming, Leming and all the other variant spellings.
So I was searching for more living descendants in my ancestry tree when I found a tree done by William Thomas Tuley, he passed away in 2010 and had written a book about his Tuley, Leming family. It is on FamilySearch.org at this URL https://dcms.lds.org/delivery/DeliveryManagerServlet?dps_pid=IE927926
His Leming connection starts with David Leming born July 25, 1793 in Middletown, Monmouth, New Jersey, USA and died November 7, 1873 in LaPorte, Indiana, USA. David was the son of Isaac William Leming and Ann Stevens. David's 2 oldest daughters married Tuley brothers, George Milton and Simeon Robinson Tuley.
His book details their family down to living people in 1994. This is a 400 page book with copies of all his documents and lots of photo's. As someone who has done this too, his effort is well organized and easy to follow.
Thanks so much for adding your profile info and your photo. I have done some tweeking to the profile and gallery pages to make them easier to use. So please come back to the website and check it out! What state is Falkner? MISS? I love your photo’s by the way so cool. There is now a new caption feature for the images that I have posted about on the Posting Page.
Hi Zak, I am hoping that you will fill out the rest of your profile and add a photo of yourself (avatar).
To change the Avatar, hover your mouse on the word “Profile” on the main menu. Click “Change Avatar” then follow the instructions.
Click the word “Profile” There are several tabs, on the Personal tab; add town, state, and You are the descendant. Check or uncheck the notifications. The first one is to get email when you get a internal private message. The second is when anyone does any activity you will get a message. This one could lead to getting a lot of email as more people keep joining.
Next click the Lineage Tab. You are from John II branch. Then enter your direct line lineage up to John II. Please follow the formatting instructions. Having this info for other members to see can aide in their knowing how you connect and aide communication about the different branches. You are the expert on your own family usually out to your 4-5 generation.
Then go to the Posting Page and give the members a shout out, ask a question, tell us the weather in your town, just say anything so you can try it out.
Thanks so much for helping me out!

Here is my message about photo captions
Hey I just noticed a new feature in the photo album section. You can now put a title and source information for each image!! Click on the left “Your photo Album”, then click on the album icon. At the top are these links, “Back to Albums | Edit | Image information | Delete”. Click on Image Information and you will see each image with 2 entry fields. click save and then click the image to see the new caption.

ok I found the Beers book on Google Books, the full version!
https://books.google.com/books?id=udUyAQAAMAAJ&vq=liming&pg=PA519#v=onepage&q=liming&f=false
Do you have a copy of Melville’s book? I would very much like to get a copy of it!!
Do you know if he has descendants who still control the copyright? Was it ever copyrighted?

1. What did you use for parent/child proof between Henry Liming, 1721, Monmouth, NJ and Joseph Liming, 1745, PA?
2. Did you find a Will? I would love to see the will or doc that names all of Henry’s children.
3. And then the same question as to what proof for Joseph that lists his children? I recently invited a cousin from your line to join the site. He descends from Eulala Liming Bulow. They don’t know anything past Henry.
4. Why do so many trees have Henry listed as William or William Henry? I have never seen any record with his name as anything but Henry.

I recently created a Find A Grave account under the societies name. I have been moving the profiles that I have created and manage to the society account and also asking for transfers from new profiles that I find that are descendants.
The goal is to manage all the Find A Grave profiles of all the descendants in the master tree and to link the profiles together and add the society website to each profile. I always ask if the current person is related to the profile and invite them to register on the society website. And if they are not to please transfer.
If you manage the profiles of your family members on Find A Grave please keep doing so. But I encourage you to make sure the people are linked together. Also add this in the Biography section of your profiles. "Descendant of immigrant John Liming" http://john-liming-society.org" This will help people find the website.
Greetings,
Today I sent $250 for 10 hours of work to Certified Genealogist Joan Bentancourt in Monmouth County, New Jersey. I also sent all the documents and sources that have been found and collected by researchers for John Liming the immigrant. Joan’s task is to evaluate each source as to whether this is John the Immigrant. She will also see if she can find the original documents that have been sourced and get copies. And finally she will prepare an official report for John Liming the immigrant. I added the $120 to get this project off the ground and started. Those of you who donated will get a copy of the report when it is received from Joan. The report will go on sale on the site for those of you who will want to see it. These reports will be copyrighted and not to be shared for free online. You can reference facts as long as the report is sourced. The sale of reports helps us buy more time from Joan to do more reports of people in the tree.

I have been having an interesting email conversation with the Vice President of the Delaware Genealogical Society about the records I found for John Liming I in Delaware dated 1676 and 1677. The 1677 record lists John Liming with other men, who were given land patents in the Whorekill District of the Delaware Frontier of New York Colony. The patents were being carried by a man to New York to be registered and signed by Gov. Lord Andros. My question was, was the land purchased in England first and then they traveled or were they in the colonies already and purchased the land. His answer was that by the look of the patent, the land was a grant given to clear and farm the land and pay quit-rent to Lord Andros. So there was no up front purchase of the land. So this makes it possible that John Liming if he was the indentured John Lyning, to be able to acquire land in Delaware, improve it and then sell it and move to Monmouth and buy land there. Mr Robinson believes that the men who got patents were here in the colonies already. I did ask what port did he think John might have landed in, and he said that most of the people who settled southern Delaware pre 1680, came from the ports of Philadelphia, Maryland or Northern Virginia. The patents were probably given as early as 1675 but not registered till 1677. The 1676 records were from a court case where John Liming was being called as a witness. The case lasted a year and he was called to appear several times and did not. It looks like he finally showed up to the court in the fall. I am feeling excited by these new records I found and now these new leads given by Mr Robinson!!
