Research Report for John Liming, Immigrant has arrived!
I received the first draft of the research report done by our genealogist 2 days ago. We have been working on the final draft since then and it should be finished tomorrow!! Next I need to submit the copyright application, upload the cover and document to Bowkers. Once that process is done, I can deliver the document, first to the donors and then make it available on the website. I anticipate getting it available on the website by Sunday at the latest. I will say right now that no new records or documents were found for John the immigrant in Monmouth County. But a very throrough analysis was done of all the documents collected by family members over the years and of Sam K Leming's section on John the immigrant. Images are included, including new images of known sources from several repositories in Monmouth. I am very happy with the work done, the report and my experience working with Joan.

FYI there was no William Henry Liming. There was a William Liming and a Henry Liming, they were brothers. Henry was born 1721 and died 1820. Can you please correct the name in your lineage below and any of your online trees please. This is a common error that I am trying to get corrected. Thanks so much for your help

So after a year of trial, error, failure and just not liking anything out there for a private Family Tree that could be only accessed by subscription of the society members. I have given up this model of income generation by the society. I am now suggesting that we use the open and free wikitree dot com where I already have a lot of the tree located anyway. I would like everyone to open an account there and message me your profile URL. I will add your profile URL to my Society member spreadsheet.
The goal is to then get you connected to the main tree on the site. The main way to do this is for everyone to get their lineage in front of them and then search wikitree to see who in your lineage is already there with a profile. The profile ID is at the end of the URL, mine is Lemons-34. Once you find a person in your lineage already on wikitree write their profile ID down. Now you need to connect your profile up to that person by creating a new person for every direct ancestor up to them. Once you get to the child of the existing person you do not create a new person but enter the Profile ID as the child's father or mother. Now you are linked to the existing ancestor. There should never be more than one profile per person. I think this will be the best way for us to have a family tree. As to what is on each profile page, we only want the bare minimum of detailed facts. Birth and Death dates/locations, marriage date, children, link to Find A Grave page.
The plan is to have professionally written research documents done for each person in the tree over time. As these documents are written they will be for sale on main society website. We can provide a link on the wikitree profile page for people to get the research document if they want more information about the person. This is how the society will earn income to stay sustainable. Here is John Liming's profile at the top of the tree. http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Liming-117 You can also just search for Liming, Leming and all the other variant spellings.

New Family Book Find!
So I was searching for more living descendants in my ancestry tree when I found a tree done by William Thomas Tuley, he passed away in 2010 and had written a book about his Tuley, Leming family. It is on FamilySearch.org at this URL https://dcms.lds.org/delivery/DeliveryManagerServlet?dps_pid=IE927926
His Leming connection starts with David Leming born July 25, 1793 in Middletown, Monmouth, New Jersey, USA and died November 7, 1873 in LaPorte, Indiana, USA. David was the son of Isaac William Leming and Ann Stevens. David's 2 oldest daughters married Tuley brothers, George Milton and Simeon Robinson Tuley.
His book details their family down to living people in 1994. This is a 400 page book with copies of all his documents and lots of photo's. As someone who has done this too, his effort is well organized and easy to follow.

Profile
Hi Zak, I am hoping that you will fill out the rest of your profile and add a photo of yourself (avatar).
To change the Avatar, hover your mouse on the word “Profile” on the main menu. Click “Change Avatar” then follow the instructions.
Click the word “Profile” There are several tabs, on the Personal tab; add town, state, and You are the descendant. Check or uncheck the notifications. The first one is to get email when you get a internal private message. The second is when anyone does any activity you will get a message. This one could lead to getting a lot of email as more people keep joining.
Next click the Lineage Tab. You are from John II branch. Then enter your direct line lineage up to John II. Please follow the formatting instructions. Having this info for other members to see can aide in their knowing how you connect and aide communication about the different branches. You are the expert on your own family usually out to your 4-5 generation.
Then go to the Posting Page and give the members a shout out, ask a question, tell us the weather in your town, just say anything so you can try it out.
Thanks so much for helping me out!

ok I found the Beers book on Google Books, the full version!
https://books.google.com/books?id=udUyAQAAMAAJ&vq=liming&pg=PA519#v=onepage&q=liming&f=false
Do you have a copy of Melville’s book? I would very much like to get a copy of it!!
Do you know if he has descendants who still control the copyright? Was it ever copyrighted?

parent/child proof
1. What did you use for parent/child proof between Henry Liming, 1721, Monmouth, NJ and Joseph Liming, 1745, PA?
2. Did you find a Will? I would love to see the will or doc that names all of Henry’s children.
3. And then the same question as to what proof for Joseph that lists his children? I recently invited a cousin from your line to join the site. He descends from Eulala Liming Bulow. They don’t know anything past Henry.
4. Why do so many trees have Henry listed as William or William Henry? I have never seen any record with his name as anything but Henry.
